What is RSI (Relative Strength Index)?
A 0–100 momentum oscillator; above 70 is called overbought, below 30 oversold.
RSI compares the size of recent gains with recent losses over 14 periods. It answers 'how one-sided has this move been', not 'how far can it go'.
In a strong trend RSI can stay above 70 for weeks. Using it as a sell signal on its own is how traders get run over by a trend.
How our model uses it
The 14-day RSI is one input feature for the direction model, not a rule: the model learns its weight from history instead of using fixed 30/70 levels.
