What is Moving average?
The average price over the last N periods, redrawn each period, used as a trend baseline.
A moving average smooths noise so the direction of travel is visible. A simple average weights every period equally; an exponential one weights recent periods more.
Price above a rising average is the common definition of an uptrend. Price crossing it is a signal about the past, not a forecast of the next day.
How our model uses it
The distance from price to the 50- and 200-day averages are two of the model's features.
Moving average right now
Read from the same stored technicals the coin page shows, so the two cannot disagree.
