What is Volume z-score?
How many standard deviations today's volume is from its recent average.
The z-score turns raw volume into a comparison with its own history: +2 means unusually busy, −1 unusually quiet. It works across coins of very different size.
Unusual volume on a big move is corroboration; a move on quiet volume is easier to fade.
How our model uses it
The volume z-score is one of the model's features for every horizon.
